The growing criminalization of business and private life has widened the reach of charges to include people who would not previously have encountered the court system as a criminal defendant. Paul Beers and Phillip Lingafelt have many years of experience representing defendants in criminal cases. Their practice extends to both federal and state court, and they are also available to assist with appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and other appellate courts.
Several criminal cases in which we have served as defense counsel have been published, including United States v. Villarini, 238 F.3d 530 (4th Cir. 2001) and United States v. Ellis, 121 F.3d 908 (4th Cir. 1997).
