ROANOKE – Glenn, Feldmann, Darby & Goodlatte, a law firm based in Roanoke and serving western and southern Virginia, announced the completion of its move into the historic Hancock Building. The firm occupies the first floor of the newly renovated building. The site, at the corner of First Street and Campbell Avenue in Downtown Roanoke, originally consisted of multiple buildings constructed toward the end of the 19th century. In 1929 the buildings were purchased by N. W. Pugh Department Store and were fully unified through the construction of a mosaic terra cotta façade. In the 1960s, the exterior of the building was entirely bricked over encapsulating its historic windows and terra cotta mosaics. That non historic façade was demolished in 2007 allowing for the development of residential apartments and the commercial space now occupied by Glenn, Feldmann, Darby & Goodlatte.
Glenn, Feldmann, Darby & Goodlatte, founded in 1954, has its own place in history. Among its original partners were former Governor Linwood Holton and former Congressman Caldwell Butler. The firm, a full service commercial and litigation firm, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004.
