Paul represents clients in a broad range of complex civil and criminal litigation matters and works hard to successfully preserve and protect the rights of clients.  His Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating results from exceptional ethical standards and demonstration of professional excellence. Paul has repeatedly been identified as a member of the “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business Magazine and is voted a “Virginia Super Lawyer” by other distinguished members of the legal community. Currently, he is featured in the Best Lawyers in America in the fields of commercial litigation and labor and employment litigation.

Paul has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Virginia Court of Appeals, and the Tennessee Supreme Court. He has written numerous law review articles and continuing legal education outlines on employment law in Virginia. While he represents employers in many instances, more frequently he represents employees in federal and state employment litigation.  He is a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.
