With more than 30 years of legal experience, Sam has earned the trust and respect of many of the region’s largest businesses and municipal corporations. Sam’s practice focuses on municipal and business law, including tax exempt industrial development revenue bond financing and general obligation infrastructure financing. As a nationally recognized bond counsel, Sam has effectively served issuers, lenders, underwriters, and borrowers in a wide range of bond financing agreements.
However, Sam’s expertise is not limited to this complex area of the law. Sam has worked for years as counsel for various local and national business entities guiding them through complicated transactions, difficult challenges, and daunting litigation. Sam has helped establish and maintain businesses of all sizes and types with many of his largest clients operating within fields that are subject to complex and pervasive regulation. Sam also handles water rights and public utility cases.
Having lived abroad and traveled extensively, Sam has a facility for languages and cultures that commend him to foreign business ventures. Sam is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish and Italian, which is just one reason foreign businesses utilize his services. His experience and intuition often enable him to anticipate issues even before his clients are confronted by them.
